It was 11:43am and had been 11:43am for several minutes. As I wrestled with my laptop computer trying to find out why nothing seemed to work, the screen went blank, then turned blue and stayed that way for a few seconds.
Finally a three-dimensional image of lines and curves appeared and started to turn slowly, over and over. Before I could say anything, I heard Carole on the desk behind me say:
